Return On Investment most likely within 9 months
Sycom spent many months testing and reviewing solutions which
replicated primary servers onto standby servers without much
joy. Our clients demand a product that is reliable and can
be depended on in a problem/disaster situation. Clients NEED
TO KNOW that if they have a solution in place to minimise
their down time, it's going to do what the "Box says
"! Well we have the solution, that really does what the
box says.
Below is an outline of the solution Sycom recommend and use
for clients requiring 99.999% up time with their NT &
Windows 2000 based Servers. Oh ok, perhaps we should be more
realistic - 99.9% up time!
Don't believe us, well come and see it working! Just call
us for a demonstration. From an ISP or Corporate right through
to small establishment requiring servers to be running in
mission critical situations, WE can take care of the solution
for you.

NeverFail replicates delta changes in real-time from
all your servers to a Local Catcher (standard Intel server).
Each source server is monitored for network presence. Should
one server fail, the Catcher notifies the users and support
staff and immediately assumes the identity of the failed server.
The Catcher then continues to replicate the data from those
servers that have not failed. Should multiple servers fail,
the Catcher will assume the identity of all failed servers
simultaneously and continue to provide the service to the
business.
A Remote Catcher can be added to the network to provide increased
resilience in the event of a local environment failure. The
remote catcher can be based at a secondary site or emergency
recovery centre and can also be connected to your local network.
Should your local site be lost, the remote catcher will take
on the work of all lost servers and provides instant disaster
recovery.
In addition to immediate server fail-over (continuous business
processing), NeverFail also has a rapid recovery option
which automatically configures emergency replacement hardware
should you lose a server that you wish to immediately replace.
Using the NeverFail management console, standby hardware
is electronically configured (no human intervention) and readied
to receive the data that has been mirrored to the Catcher.
Once built, the rapid recovery server can be connected to
the network and take the place of the failed hardware.
Unscheduled downtime is a thing of the past with NeverFail.
NeverFail has many features:
It eliminates the impact of a server failure ensuring users
are not interrupted, data is not lost and reputations are
not damaged.
It recovers multiple servers onto just one Intel environment
reducing investment in emergency standby hardware.
It allows essential hardware maintenance and system changes
to take place during normal working hours
substantially reducing overtime costs and expensive downtime.
It provides immediate data recovery and avoids having to
restore last night's backups tomorrow!
Replaces failed hardware automatically reducing engineering
overheads and saving money on maintenance contracts.
Allows multiple applications such as Exchange and Oracle
to run on a single server reducing investment in server technology.
Protects from a major disaster and reduces disaster recovery
contracts costs.
Why is this a product that you should consider now, today
as a fundamental component of your network?
Due to the unique way in which NeverFail replicates
data, additional network traffic is kept to a minimum and
existing bandwidth is not compromised.
The product has substantial appeal to companies of all sizes,
from 50 employees upwards and is suitable for all industries.
It has many unique selling points: Allows the recovery of
multiple servers onto a single piece of hardware - this cuts
costs and enhances the value proposition.
Provides fully-automated hardware recovery replacing failed
equipment without human intervention.
Using its remote mirroring capability, it protects a business
from environment failure e.g. major disasters. It allows scheduled
downtime during working hours saving on overtime, maintenance
contracts and expensive outsourcing costs.
Creates exact replicas of client servers allowing offline
testing, upgrades, training etc. without damaging the live
environment.
Monitors servers locally and remotely providing pre-emptive
information.
Can be installed on-the-fly, minimizing downtime.
Allows companies to provide their own fully automated disaster
recovery services, cutting costs from third party suppliers.
A Gartner report entitled "Why Enterprises Invoke Their
Business Continuity Plans" published in January 2001
stated that the most common cause of interruption between
1997 and 2000 was hardware failure (60% of all cases). This
is the core reason for buying NeverFail Server.
